Pick of the week: UEFA Women’s Nations League – England v Netherlands
7pm, Friday 1 December, ITV4 HD (CH 118)
A place in the Nations League finals (as well as next year’s Olympics) is riding on England’s two games this week – first up, Friday’s match at Wembley. Following a 3-2 loss away to Belgium last time, it’s crunch time for the England’s Lionesses and given that the Netherlands’ Orange Lionesses (De Oranje Leeuwinnen) beat them 2-1 in Utrecht in September, this is sure to be a tough, nail-biting match.
England will be working from solid foundations, with Mary Earps – holder of the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award and newly crowned BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year – between the posts, and although they’re missing influential defender Millie Bright, they’ll get a boost with the return from injury of Euro 2022 hero Beth Mead. Laura Woods will be presenting all the action with analysis from Ian Wright, Karen Carney and Eni Aluko. Don’t miss it!

Die Hard
9pm, Saturday 2 December, Film4 HD (CH 429)
Since the dawn of time many questions have baffled the human race. However, none is as prevalent in the festive season as: “Is Die Hard a Christmas film?” In our books, it’s a hearty yes. Against a backdrop of decked halls, Christmas trees and joyful carols, the film follows detective John McClane (Bruce Willis, The Sixth Sense) as he heads home to reunite with estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia, Parenthood). However, there’s trouble afoot at Holly’s workplace when a group of dangerous terrorists (led by Alan Rickman, Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves) gatecrash the festivities with deadly consequences. Yippee ki-yay…
