It would appear Gerard Butler himself has fallen, because this new series based on the Has Fallen franchise has moved on from Secret Service Agent and former Army Ranger Mike Banning’s story. This time, a protection officer (Tewfik Jallab) and an MI6 operative (Ritu Arya) team up after a terrorist attack. They suspect a mole as they race to thwart a larger conspiracy threatening Paris. Expect big drama and even bigger explosions.

Of all Henry VIII’s wives, Katherine Parr might have received the least attention – with the most filmic focus being on the start of Henry’s reign with Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. But Parr, let’s not forget the rhyme, “survived”. So, who was she? Starring Jude Law (Henry) and Alicia Vikander (Parr), when the king returns after battles abroad and increasingly ill and paranoid, Katherine finds herself fighting for her survival.
Citadel: Honey Bunny

Not to be confused with The House Bunny starring Anna Faris, instead, this adrenaline-fuelled original Indian series – the latest in the Citadel franchise – sees a stuntman recruit a struggling actress for a side gig. But soon, they are hurled into a high-stakes world of action, espionage and betrayal. If you’ve seen any previous series within the world of Citadel, you know you’re in for a thrill ride.

Find season 1 in Apps > Prime Video from Thursday 14 November
James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross book series has long been a favourite holiday read. After Prime Video nailed their Jack Reacher adaption with Reacher, we have very high hopes for this latest book-to-screen showing. Aldis Hodge (Leverage) plays Cross, a decorated D.C. homicide detective and forensic psychologist who must face down a sadistic serial killer who has left a string of bodies strewn around the city.

At Manchester College (no, not our Manchester), two ruthless step-siblings, Caroline Merteuil (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lucien Belmont (Zac Burgess), will do anything to stay on top of the cutthroat social hierarchy. Even if that means seducing Annie Grover, the daughter of the Vice President of the United States (Savannah Lee Smith). It’s your new TV obsession.

Clarkson’s Farm star and Chipping Norton’s finest and best-known farmer Kaleb Cooper gives audiences at home front-row seats to his national theatre tour, recorded live at the Cheltenham Everyman Theatre. The long-awaited series 9 of the acclaimed murder-mystery drama has arrived with Ashley Jensen’s DI Ruth Calder and Alison O’Donnell’s DS Alison “Tosh” McIntosh returning to the eponymous archipelago to investigate crimes in this tight-knit community. A double missing person’s case blurs the lines between the personal and the professional, as Calder and Tosh are drawn into a labyrinthine investigation.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror And The Light

Eagerly awaited and years in the making, Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis return as Thomas Cromwell and Henry VIII in one of the TV events of the year. This six-part series will trace the final four years of Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared, influential figure of his time. Jonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips and Lilit Lesser all return, while Harriet Walter, Timothy Spall and Harry Melling join the stacked cast this time around.

Sue Perkins feels like the kind of person you’d happily travel with – engaging, funny and seemingly has a good idea of the best places to go on this planet. This latest adventure sees her following the route of the famed Orient Express train. But rather than throwing down £19,000 for a ticket from Paris to Istanbul, she’s going to do it her way using trains, buses, cabs, boats and even the occasional shanks pony.
Junior Taskmaster

With 18 series of Taskmaster under the belts of Greg Davies and Alex Horne, they’re passing the batons to Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak for a junior edition of the show. A whopping 25 contestants aged between 9 and 11 will take on a series of tasks overseen by Wozniak, with Matafeo passing judgement – and ultimately dishing out those sweet points. Will it work? There’s no finer format in TV, so we have high hopes.
Legends Of Comedy With Lenny Henry

The award-winning comedian, actor, writer and Knight Of The Realm meets four of the country’s most-loved comedians to explore how to make comedy gold. Each episode sees Sir Lenny carve up the career and work of his funny guest, along with in-depth chats, archive clips and plenty of laughs. It’s a hilarious deep dive to discover how comedy greats truly made their mark.
Abbott Elementary
Find season 2 in Apps > Channel 4 from Monday 18 November
The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning mockumentary sitcom following a group of dedicated, passionate teachers – and a slightly tone-deaf principal – in Philadelphia is back for season 2. It’s currently on season 4 in the States, so there’s no need to worry about an abrupt cancellation as you get stuck into this sophomore effort. Need another reason? This season holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Married At First Sight New Zealand
Find series 4 in Apps > Channel 4 from Monday 18 November. Series 1-3 also available
Can you ever get enough Married At First Sight? This latest spin-off from New Zealand may be testing out the limitations of that question. But having revised this show’s global formula in line with the popular Aussie edition, this series is now reality TV gold, no matter where it’s filmed. How with this group of Kiwi singletons get on with the “experiment” this time around?

This spin-off from the hugely popular series The Good Wife and The Good Fight opts to break the tradition and lose “Good” from its title. It focuses on Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston), an unconventional attorney who works alongside the NYPD to help catch criminals. (And maybe with an ulterior motive). With series 2 on its way, join the show from the beginning.
Two Doors Down
Find series 5-6 + 2021 and 2022 Christmas Specials in U&GOLD on demand from Friday 1 November
While it’s likely this brilliant Scottish comedy will never return following the passing of the show’s co-creator Simon Carlyle last year, its archive remains one of the sharpest observational sitcoms this island has ever produced. These final two series, plus two Christmas specials, provide the perfect swansong. A sitcom that could make a broken fridge, an overpacked suitcase and a trip to the carvery into comedy gold.
World’s Most Dangerous Roads
Find series 1-6 in U&Dave on demand from Sunday 3 November
Series 6 of the show that sees two celebs journey by a sport-utility vehicle along roads thought to be the world’s most dangerous drops this November. Lucy Beaumont (who can’t drive) and Johnny Vegas hit Montenegro, while Babatunde Aléshé and Kae Kurd travel to Zambia. Plus, don’t miss classic episodes in on demand, like series 1’s Nepal-based road trip featuring Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies.
Fatal Attraction

This modern adaptation of Fatal Attraction reimagines the 1980s thriller and its timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through today’s modern world and attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control. Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan make a compelling double-act and it’s as raunchy as you’d expect, given the source material. Featuring plenty of twists even fans of the original won’t expect.
The Cleaner

Crime doesn’t pay. We all know that. But it certainly provides gainful employment for crime scene cleaner Paul “Wicky” Wickstead (Greg Davies), who has the not-for-the-squeamish task of scrubbing up after unfortunate events. Catch the first two series in on demand, as Wicky meets a host of incredible, weird and wonderful people, with guest turns from the likes of Helena Bonham Carter and David Mitchell.
Black Ops
Find series 1 in U&GOLD on demand from Wednesday 6 November
One of the most original comedies in a long time, co-creators Gbemisola Ikumelo and Akemnji Ndifornyen star as Dom and Kay, two hapless community support police officers who are unexpectedly recruited into an off-the-books undercover operation and thrown into the murky world of violent underground criminality. If that sounds heavy, it’s not. It’s one of the funniest things on TV.
Hotel Portofino
Find series 1-2 in U&Drama on demand from Friday 8 November
Set in the 1920s on the Italian Riviera, Hotel Portofino follows Natascha McElhone as Bella Ainsworth, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist who runs a plush hotel where staff take care of the residents’ every whim. Series 1 saw a fiendish whodunnit mystery woven throughout, while series 2 sees Bella’s son Lucian (Oliver Dench) arrive in Italy – along with her no-good husband Cecil. A certain architect might be a little bit disappointed…
Black Sands
Find series 1-2 in U&Alibi on demand from Tuesday 12 November
If you believe all the TV dramas that are exported to us, the whole of the Nordic region is basically like the fictional county of Midsomer – only more picturesque and with more natty knitwear. In this excellent Icelandic thriller, a troubled police officer is forced back to her hometown where the discovery of a body changes everything. Soon, she’s forced to search for a dangerous serial killer while battling her own demons.
Bangers And Cash: Restoring Classics
Find series 1-5 in U&Yesterday on demand from Thursday 14 November
Follow the journey of a vehicle purchased at a Mathewsons classic car auction, before it’s repaired, restored and then re-auctioned so the team can try to find the vehicle a new home and loving owner. The gang also revisit some old favourites from the previous series of Bangers And Cash. Don’t miss the arrival of series 5, plus catch up on all the previous episodes in series 1-4.
Secret Bridesmaid’s Business

Sadly, this is not a reality show where bridesmaids try to pitch their business ideas during the wedding toasts (seriously, if any TV commissioners are reading, let’s get it made). Instead, it’s a six-part Aussie miniseries that sees a bride’s perfect day turn deadly after one of her bridesmaids unknowingly invites a malevolent stranger into their lives, triggering a deadly chain reaction that blows open a hidden world of secrets.
Guilt

Widely regarded as one of the best-ever Scottish TV dramas, you can now watch all three series of this mystery thriller starring Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives as two brothers who are involved in a hit and run. In case you’ve not caught the first two series, we’ll tread lightly on spoilers. But these final four episodes will not disappoint you if you love following the story of Max (Bonnar) and Jack (Sives).

It’s a credit to the slew of epic TV at the moment that you probably haven’t heard of this brooding 1970s-set Navajo murder mystery until now. But get on it. Both seasons have a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and with good reasons – it’s great. Based on the novel series by Tony Hillerman, it follows three Navajo Tribal Police officers, Joe Leaphorn, Bernadette Manuelito and Jim Chee in the American Southwest.
Prison Break
Find series 1-5 in U&Dave on demand from Thursday 21 November
Catch the entirety of the brilliant Prison Break in on demand, all 5 glorious seasons of it. Structural engineer Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) installs himself in the prison he helped design, to save his falsely accused brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) from a death sentence by breaking themselves out from the inside. Watch it from the beginning and you won’t be disappointed.

Generations of blood have led to this. The midseason 5 finale of Yellowstone – which chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States – left us on tenterhooks with quite the cliffhanger. So, its return has been long-awaited. While we don’t know what this season has in store, the trailer promises higher stakes and more drama than ever before.
